We went to Amanda for myofunctional therapy before and after my daughter's tongue tie release. In our original evaluation by our airway specialist, we were told our daughter would likely need a four-way expander. However, after completing Amanda's exercises, we went back for a second evaluation and for next steps, and discovered that because she started using her tongue correctly she no longer needed any expansion! The myofunctional therapies had helped her gain additional space, by teaching her to use her tongue correctly. Myofunctional therapy has helped her in so many ways in addition to creating mouth space. We have noticed that she rarely mouth-breathes at night, cavities have disappeared, her posture has improved, overall sleep has improved, digestion has improved, tonsil inflammation has subsided...so many amazing benefits. I would highly recommend Amanda and would encourage an evaluation for myofunctional therapy for any child that mouth breathes at night. Amanda is very knowledgeable and works well with young kids, showing them how to do the exercises correctly and guiding them through the process. Her sticker checklist made the challenge of completing the exercises manageable from a parent perspective and tolerable, if not enjoyable from a kid perspective.
